Rather than make the logical conclusion that its because there are less white people, general consensus of the white public is that people of other races have genetic “defects” which are more likely to lead to mutant powers. Logically, most mutants in the world will not be white.
#PAINTTOOL SAI SEMEN TUTORIAL SERIES#
Honestly there can be an entire series of a pair of activists, one mutant and one human, going around solving and protesting cases of police brutality against unarmed Black people suspected of being mutants. Then, plot twist this is actually a serious story, he notices that ALL the mutants in the bank (idk he can sense mutants just roll with this) are white. However, he’s turned away and doesnt know why. A seemingly funny storyline of a younger mutant whos strapped for cash going to a sperm bank to sell his *whistles* because mutant sperm is high in demand. A storyline that reveals that even though across the political spectrum, humans report not wanting mutants of color enterring the country, a reporter releases a story revealing that not only does the US government actively RECRUIT European mutants for government jobs, but they also give mutants in rest of the world promises of citizenship if they become undercover soldiers for the US. Other superhumans, who got their powers through accidents, magic, or mixed alien heritage and dont posses an X-gene are thus except from their queerphobic mutantphobia. Conservatives use pseudoscience to argue that “homosexuality and transgenderism” is inherently linked to Mutants. Mutants of color have less access to social programs meant to help mutants so they find themselves stuck in mutantphobic communities without support.

Such a storyline also critiques Marvel’s lack of diversity throughout the years.

Simultaneously, the fact that most superheroes are white allows people to justify racialized mutantphobia. Xavier, in putting his white students front and center on X-Teams, conditioned the human public to be more accepting of White mutants. They would have to engage in discussion about WHY queer mutants of color experience discrimination while straight, white mutants do not. It would require the writers to actively NOT metaphorize other forms of bigotry and instead treat them in a real, nuanced manner. I think this is the best way to feature mutantphobia as a main theme of the book without reducing other forms of bigotry as an empty, non-nuanced metaphor. I personally would not only not mind but also greatly appreciate if, in the future of X-Men stories, it was made canon that mutantphobia does not affect white, cisgender heterosexual and heteromantic mutants. Make it real.īy this I mean that the narrative should treat it as a completely real bigotry and all the nuance that comes with it.

Next to the new layer button is the "New Linework Layer" button.Above the list of layers there is an icon of a blank page with a folded corner, clicking that will give you a new layer. On each layer there is an image of an eye, clicking the icon will toggle the visibility of the layer. They allow you to change parts of an artwork without touching the rest and change how things overlap in your artwork. On the side of your window, there should be a large grey box with a small purple box inside it that says "Layer 1." Layers are like painting on sheets of glass and placing the sheets on top of each other to make a picture.
